12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop - Day 9

Welcome to the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!

You should have arrived from Theresa's blog.  You can start the hop from the beginning at Lisa's blog.

It's day 9 of 12 days of fabulous Holiday projects!

Today's project was a true labor of love.  I've been saving pickle jars for well over a year with the intention of making them into a craft project.  What I didn't really count on was having to get the pickle smell out of a pickle jar before using them.  It was quite the adventure with a lot of trial, error and a curse word or two thrown in just because I could, but finally they were pickle smell free!  I repurposed my pickle jars into homemade dog treat jars!!  At the time I took these pictures, I hadn't made my dog treats yet.  I filled one of the jars with store bought treats and left the rest of the jars empty.  I ended up with 14 of these!  Good thing I know a lot of dog owners.

I used Create A Critter 2 to create my holiday dog.  He's cut at 3.5 inches, I hid the face cuts and used PK dog faces stamp.

I used paw print ribbon to wrap around the lid...mostly to hide the expiration date of the pickles. LOL

Overall I used three different PK doggie face stamps.  I used a white gel pen on the eyes and a red gel pen on the tongue.

Personally, I like this doggie face stamp the best!

A paw print border punch was used on the red cardstock.

I heat embossed the lid with a stamp I got in the $1 bin at Michaels.  The dog bone is also from Create A Critter 2.

See you tomorrow with another new Holiday 2012 project!  Have an awesome day.

12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop - Day 2

Welcome to the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!

You should have arrived from Theresa's blog.  You can start the hop from the beginning at Lisa's blog.

It's day 2 of 12 days of fabulous Holiday projects!  Today I made these cute Skittle Treat Toppers.

The treat bags are 1x8 inches, filled with skittles (or M&M's work very well...only M&M's don't last long enough to craft with when my husband is around).  My toppers are from the Create a Critter 2 Cricut cartridge.  The monkey and the tree are cut at 2.53 inches.  I added some doodles to the monkey with a white gel pen.

I felt like they were a bit plain, so I wrapped twine around.

Up next is Jillian!

See you tomorrow with another new Holiday 2012 project!  Have an awesome day.

Happy Halloween

I have a few more Halloween themed crafts to share.

Here's a wreath I made for my front door.  I used Create A Critter 2 for the spider and the beware sign.  I attached the spider with twine.

Here's a card I sent to say Happy Halloween and Thank you all in one!  Image is by Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps.

Hope your buckets overfill with candy!  Have an awesome day.

I decorated some XL candy bars to give as gifts for a few special people on Halloween.

I wrapped the candy bar with a a strip of black cardstock that is 18 x 2.5 inches.  The green strip is 6.5 x 2 inches, I used a border punch to make the wholes.  The purple strip is 6.5 x 1.75 inches.  The white strip is 6.5 x 1 inch and stamped with a Stamps of Life stamp in orange ink.  The Owl is from the Create a Critter 2 Cricut cartridge and is cut at 3 inches.  I doodled around the hat in white and black gen ink pen.  I popped up the white tummy and the orange hat strip with foam tape.  I then attached the owl to the  caredstock with more foam tape, giving it even more dimension.

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you have an awesome day.
