I've been busted!

*Sigh*....never send a man to do a woman's job!  Tomorrow is my Mom's 60th birthday.  I spent considerable amount of time and energy into getting strangers to send my Mom a happy 60th birthday card to make her go crazy trying to figure out where the cards were coming from.  Well it worked!  She blamed one of her BFF's for the cards that were arriving in the mail from all over.  I wasn't even on her radar.  Until...... I asked my husband to post on a message board he frequents for volunteers to send her a birthday card.  Apparently *HE* didn't  get the memo that said this was a secret.  One of his volunteers ratted me out.  She now knows it was me behind all the mysterious cards that were arriving in her mailbox.

Thanks to everyone that sent or will be sending her a card!  Once the mystery of where they were coming from she was over, she was delighted in getting birthday wishes from so many.

Here's one of the many cards I made her (more about that later!)

Have an awesome day!

Hoot Hoot Hooray-- The Stamps of Life

September's stamp of the month from the Stamps of Life arrived in my mail box earlier this month.  I pulled it out and I thought, "Hmmmm....owl??"  Now sure how I really feel about owls but I have to say after playing with them for a bit I'm actually enjoying them!

I stamped my owls on solid colored cardstock then cut them out.  The middle yellow owl is popped up with dimensional.  The sentiment came with the stamp.

This is a gift card holder that I made using an empty toilet paper roll.  I put a scratch lotto ticket in the holder and added it to the above birthday card.

Thanks for looking.

Have a great day!

Hello crafty friends!  My Mom is celebrating her 60th birthday on Oct 1st.  I thought it would be fun for her to get cards from around the country from people she has no clue who they are or how they got her address.

Cards can be homemade or not....and can be sent anytime between now and Oct 10th.

If you can help, either comment here with an email address or send me an email...2pawprints @ gmail (dot) com and I will email you her address.

Thanks in advance for helping her have an awesome birthday!

Take the scenic route-- OWH Virtual Card Making Party

Welcome to my blog and to Operation Write Home's Virtual Card Making Party!!!  If you are a follower of mine and want to see what all the fun is about, go to Operation Write Home to catch up!

My challenge is for you to build a scene using at least three different stamps.  This was a challenge for me too....this is my first ever scene card.  It didn't come together easily for me, but the mojo finally hit.  I'm quite pleased with my scene card! My only regret is that it's not *me* hanging out in that hammock right now! =)

I used a stamp set from The Stamps of Life.  There are five different stamps in total used to make my scene.  Here's how my card came together.....

  • I stamped the palm tree trunks in french roast brown ink then colored them in with copic markers
  • the hammock is stamped with black ink then colored in with copic markers
  • I stamped the palm leaves in lime green, cut them out then inked over some of the leaves in grass green
  • I used latte ink to stamp the sand under the hammock and around the trees
  • Cobalt blue ink was used in stamping the sand dollar
  • The blue water background is chalked
  • the palm tree leaves are popped up using foam dots

How about some fun blog candy??  I have some rub-ons, epoxy shapes, coaster tags and frame stickers to one lucky random participant.  Check back Monday evening to see who is the big winner!

Time to play along!  Show us your scene.

OWH-VCMP Challenge #5- Falling for you

Challenge #5 is from Sybrina at Scrapping with Purpose.  Her challenge was to make a card that reflects something falling.

I chose one of my Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps for this challenge.  Rainy Day Ruby was already colored, she just needed a purpose!  When I thought of something falling, I thought of rain (well duh, I do live in Washington state!)...then I thought of the phrase "rain drops are falling on my head".  I'm a musical fan, and Singing in the Rain is one I really like.

It's been a few days since I've posted!  I've been a bit busy doing things other than crafting (gasp!).  Ok, so truth be told I have done some crafting just no blogging.  My blogging habits kinda suck, I mostly do a whole bunch at once that go out for 1-3 weeks...I ran out of scheduled post and didn't get back to it!  I'm on vacation the rest of the week so my blogging should get caught up for the next two weeks at least. =)

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend!  I know I did!  Here's a few of my final summer cards....time to start dispaying fall/winter/holiday.

This is a Hambo Hoedown image, one of my favorite to color!

A few Pixie Dust cuties!  Love how the dog has that "puppy tilted to the head trying to understand what you're saying" look.

Thanks for hanging out!  Have an awesome day.

Imagine my delight when I found this stamp!  As you may or may not know, I have this thing about bathtubs.  This guy in his boots and hat in the tub with his hairy legs just makes me smile.  The image is from Rubbernecker, the image was colored with copic markers.  I used nestabilities to cut the image and the shadow.  The sentiment is from Staming Up.

Thanks for looking.  Have an awesome day.
