Pet Sympathy Card

A co-worker recently had to make the hard decision every pet owner hates.  I've been there myself twice in the past 12 years and will be there again sometime in the next few years.  As a pet owner, I tell myself that it's always what is best for the pet, not what is best for me.  Obviously what is best for me is to have my best friend around forever!  That's just not realistic.  It has to be what is best for the pet.

I made this sympathy card for her.

I used watercolor paper along with the following distress inks watered down to make the background of the card:  barn door, spiced marmalade, mustard, mowed lawn, mermaid lagoon, faded jeans and dusty concord.  I spritzed my background with water for 30 seconds before wiping off with a paper towel to get the water spot effects.

Once the card panel was dry, I used Heidi Swapp silver texture paste with a paw print stencil.  I used a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die to cut the panel to A2 card size.  As a final touch on the outside, I added Pretty Pink Posh 4mm clear droplets.

On the inside of the card I used second generation stamping of  a dog from Paper Smooches set, then stamped my sentiment over top of the dog.  My sentiment is also from a Paper Smooches set.

I made a couple of these cards to have on hand in my stash, this is not a card that I like to make on an as needed basis.

Home is where we park it

I'm a sucker for cute little travel trailers.  I don't have one, but I am a fan of camping and someday would love to have a little trailer!

The image and the sentiment are from Close to My Heart.

Another quick and simple card that I made multiples of for my stash.

Keep Smiling with a little birdie

I made a bunch of these simple cards for my personal stash of cards to send off when a person needs a little encouragement.  They were quick and easy to make.

The little birdie is from a winter set by Simon Says Stamp,  Just because it's a winter stamp, doesn't mean all the stamps can't be used year round!  This little birdie is a perfect example.  The sentiment is also from Simon Says Stamp.  I used a MFT die set for the fishtail flag.  Papers are from my over flowing stash of pattern paper.

Have an awesome day!

Just a Note Paper Smooches dog

If you've followed me for a while, you know that I do love my doggie stamps.  I have 3 pups, so it's not a surprise that I buy just about every dog stamp set I see!

The image and sentiment are from Paper Smooches.  I added the stars from a Simon Says Stamp star die.

Have an awesome day!

Do I smell CAKE?

Hello there!

Time sure does have a way of flying by.  I haven't done a blog post since January 21st!  I have made a ton of cards, just didn't take the time to take pictures and blog.  I'm ready to get back on a schedule and I have some fun and exciting plans for the future!

This card was so fun to make!  I used a lot of new products I recently purchased.

The scallop frame and the sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh.  The image, which is soooo adorable and my favorite stamp in the whole set, and the sentiment is from Gerda Steiner Designs.  I colored the cute monster with copic markers and I heat embossed the sentiment with Ranger super fine white embossing powder.  The white rectangle was cut from the Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle dies.  And lastly, I used my Simon Says Stamp polka dot stencil with Ranger Grape Soda dye ink pad to make the background.  The pattern paper comes from a Doodlebug paper pack.

Have an awesome day!
