Holiday wreath

I saw THIS wreath on Pinterest recently.  I needed to make a new wreath for my Grandma so I thought I'd give it a try.

I used red and white yarn.  I cut off the strings on the little ornaments and hot glued them directly to the wreath.

Sorry about the picture.  It gets so dark early and my picture taking needs help! :)

I Love Snow Blog Hop

For today's hop, I made another Snowman Wreath.  This time it's a gift for a co-worker, who LOVES snowmen.

The wreath is made of felt squares.  I used my Cricut to create my snowmen and snowflakes.

I inked the edges of the snowflakes in blue and used my white gel pen to add dashes.  I also dabbed some rock candy stickles on with a paintbrush.

 I used Peachy Keen snowman face stamps.  Also added more rock candy stickles to the brown arm branches.

Welcome to day 8 of 12 days of fabulous Holiday projects!  For my project, I made a Holiday Wreath, another gift for my Grandma.

I used 2 inch squares of red and white felt.  I hot glued green glitter balls into the center some of the squares.

12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop - Day 1

It's day 1 of 12 fabulous days of holiday projects.  I made a Snowman Wreath for my Grandma.

I used three different shades of blue felt and white felt.  I cut my felt into 2 inch squares, folded each square from corner to corner and then pinned into my foam wreath.

I used Winter Frolic Cricut cartridge to make my snowmen.  This one is cut at 4.06 inches.  I hid the face cuts using my gypsy, and stamped the face with Peachy Keen's Happy New Year 1 1/8 inch face stamps.  I doodled with a white and black gel pen.  I used a copic W-1 marker to outline the face stamp.  This snowman has been into the spiked hot apple cider!

This snowman is cut at 3.71 inches.  I used a white gel pen on the mittens, scarf and earmuffs.  The stamp is a PK Snowmany Faces, 1 1/8inch.  I used W1 copic and a pink copic (oops, didn't write it down!) for the rosy cheeks.

This snowman is cut at 4.53 inches.  White gel pen used on the hat and mittens.  PK Snowmany Faces stamp, W1 copic and pink copic for the cheeks.

The snowflake is from the Cricut Cartridge "Christmas".  It's cut at 3.71 inches.  I cut the shadow and the main cut.  Then I flipped the snowflake (using my gypsy) and cut the reverse.  My snowflake is now 2 sided. I used blue and white twine to hang my snowflake from the top of the wreath.  In the center of the snowflake, I put a clear jewel.  I also inked the edges a bit in blue ink.

Happy Halloween

I have a few more Halloween themed crafts to share.

Here's a wreath I made for my front door.  I used Create A Critter 2 for the spider and the beware sign.  I attached the spider with twine.

Here's a card I sent to say Happy Halloween and Thank you all in one!  Image is by Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps.

Halloween Wreath

I made a Halloween Wreath for my Grandma to put on her door.  I used a 14 inch foam wreath, lots of two inch orange and black felt squares to make the wreath.  I used Mini Monsters Cricut Cartridge to make them images.

 I used Peachy Keen Monster faces for the ghost face.

Red, white and blue wreath tutorial

Thanks to Pinterest, I found a super easy method of making an awesome looking wreath!

Supplies needed:
Foam wreath-- for this project I used a 12 inch wreath


7 sheets of red felt
7 sheets of white felt
5 sheets of blue felt
400+ stick pins


scissors
Glue gun
Felt Stars


I was able to buy all of my supplies at my local JoAnn store.


Cut your felt into 2 inch squares, doesn't have to be exact.

Each wreath will have a varying number of felt squares.  I start with cutting five sheets of red and white felt, then cut more if you need to fill in more of your wreath.  Cut 3 sheets of your blue felt, cutting more when you need it.

Time to start building your wreath!  Take a felt square, fold it corner to opposite corner, then corner to opposite corner again to get a "folded triangle".  Pin your triangle to the wreath.

Keep folding your squares and pinning them next to each other around the wreath.  I don't fill in the back of my wreath, as you see below, but I do fill in the top and the inside circle.

As pictured here in the bottom left corner  I use white ribbon to hang up the wreath.  Before I pin down the white section, I wrap ribbon around the wreath then cover with felt.  I use about 2 yards so I have some play with how long the ribbon will be to hang it up.

Once my wreath has been filled in, I use a hot glue gun to glue down the stars onto the blue section.  While this process is super easy, it can take some time!  My first wreath took me over 6 hours from start to finish, this wreath took me just about three hours.

Wreaths

Earlier this month I went on a four day crafting retreat in Ohio.  While I was there I made these two wreaths for my Grandma to hang on her door.

This wreath I first saw on pinterest and decided that I could easily do that!  It's a styrofoam wreath.  I cut red, white and blue felt into 2 inch squares.  I folded each square twice, then I pinned the felt to the wreath.  I did this over and over and over and over again until it filled started to fill in.  My stars were cut using the Cricut then glued to the felt using a glue gun.  It turned out fabulous!  

There was no inspiration for this wreath, it came from me!  I used light and dark green, white and pink felt.  Same as above, cut the felt into 2 inch squares, double folded and pinned onto the wreath.  The flowers were made using the Cricut (Art Philosophy cartridge).  I made the flowers three different sizes.  I inked the edges before I folded them.  I started with the four big flowers then filled in with felt and more flowers from there.  This wreath took me about 8 hours to make but was worth every minute once my Grandma told me how much she liked it.  =)
